Aquilaria trees are suitable for planting in the lowland areas to the mountains at an altitude of 0 – 750 meters above sea level.

It can grow on a wide range of soils, with a pH between 4.0 to 6.0 loamy soil, soft sandy clay like soil, deep and stony, including poor sandy soil, the best is red bazan soil.

It is not suitable planting in swampy soil and stagnant water. Preventing the land from flooded, alum, salt or soil in the surface of limestone should not grow Aquilaria tree.  In short , Aquilaria trees preferably planted on hilly areas with red bazan soil.

Cây dó bầu thích hợp trồng ở vùng đồng bằng trên núi ở độ cao từ 0 – 750 mét so với mực nước biển.

Nó có thể phát triển trên nhiều loại đất, có độ pH từ 4,0 đến 6,0, đất thịt pha sét, đất pha cát mềm, sâu và nhiều đá, kể cả đất cát nghèo dinh dưỡng, tốt nhất là đất bazan đỏ.

Trồng ở nơi đất ngập nước, đọng nước không thích hợp. Để đất không bị ngập úng, bị nhiễm phèn, nhiễm mặn hoặc có đất trên bề mặt đá vôi không nên trồng cây Dó bầu. Tóm lại, cây dó bầu tốt nhất nên trồng ở vùng đồi núi có đất bazan đỏ.

Một nghiên cứu điển hình chia sẻ về hiệu quả của việc trồng cây dó bầu trên môi trường đất sét xung quanh là ruộng lúa.
