Pink Disease / Bệnh hồng

The disease is spreaded by wind-borne spores (Corticium salmonicolor) that causes the existence of a pink fungus attached to the branches and trunks of Aquilaria tree. Pink disease often occur in areas that receive high amounts of rain water or during rainy season. However, the spreading of the disease is also dependent on the healthy of trees and environmental conditions.

Bệnh lây lan nhờ bào tử truyền qua gió (Corticium salmonicolor) gây ra sự tồn tại của một loại nấm màu hồng bám trên cành và thân cây dó bầu. Bệnh hồng thường xảy ra ở những vùng có lượng nước mưa nhiều hoặc vào mùa mưa. Tuy nhiên, sự lây lan của bệnh còn phụ thuộc vào sức khỏe của cây và điều kiện môi trường.

• Wilt and dieback on infected trunk, branches and broken branches during strong winds
• Héo và chết trên thân, cành bị nhiễm bệnh và cành gãy khi có gió mạnh
  
• The formation of elongated cracks on the trunk surface
• The existence of epicormics shoot under the branches / die branch
• Sự hình thành các vết nứt kéo dài trên bề mặt thân cây
• Sự tồn tại của côn trùng chồi dưới cành/cành chết

**dieback is the condition where the tree start to die from the tips of its leaves or any part to the roots (root backward) that caused by disease or unfavourable environment

dieback là tình trạng cây bắt đầu chết từ ngọn lá hoặc bất kỳ bộ phận nào đến rễ (rễ ngược) do bệnh tật hoặc môi trường không thuận lợi.

Ways to control and prevent the disease/Cách kiểm soát và phòng ngừa bệnh:

• Spraying or putting the infected part of the tree with chemical such as Copper oxide, Copper oxychloride, copper hydroxide, triadimefen, tridemorph (calixin), oxycarboxin and other systemic fungicide are practical.
• For long term strategy, plant the trees that are resistant to the disease
• Việc phun hoặc đặt phần bị nhiễm bệnh của cây bằng hóa chất như Oxit đồng, Copper oxychloride, hydroxit đồng, triadimefen, tridemorph (calixin), oxycarboxin và các loại thuốc diệt nấm toàn thân khác là thực tế.
• Để có chiến lược lâu dài, hãy trồng những cây có khả năng kháng bệnh
